landroversforsale.com

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows anybody who has bought a d90 from landroversforsale.com? If so, are they happy with the purchase. I'm interested in the 1995 AA Yellow D90, I just want to make sure that it's as good of a deal as it looks. The d90 only has 77k miles and looks to be in great shape, and it's for sale for $27k. The only thing that really worries me is the R380 in the shifting. Let me know what you guys think, I'd like to make the purchase after the first of the year.

Thanks,
Kenny

Copley is known for very high quality trucks.

Land Rovers For Sale is known for well-presented trucks.

Both are dealers so naturally must charge a premium.

I have heard nothing of good things of Steven and Landroversforsale.
Him and his dad run the business.
I would be comforitable with the purchase.

Kenny, why do you have an issue with the R380? From everything I've read, you're better off with the R380 and not the LT77.

I purchased an Arles Blue 94 D90 from Steven in October of this year. If, some day, I sold it and needed another, Steven would probably be my first phone call. I'm sure I saw that yellow one down there in Birmingham at LRS HQ when I was signing the paperwork on mine. I wish I could tell you more about it, but I was having a hard time staying focused...that was the most series rovers and D90's I'd ever seen in one place. PM me for more information.

I bought my 97 from them a few years ago. Been a great truck and love it. I defiantly would not hesitate to buy another truck from them if they had something I wanted.

Thanks for the great info guys. I'm stoked to make this deal finally happen, it's been in the works for a few months now.

I know a guy that just purchase a 73/74 Blue Series truck from them last week... He was very pleased with the transaction.

that would be an "issue" regardless of who you bought it off of.

I bought my old D90 off a generally well regarded forum member a few years back. 2nd gear was completely shot and the rear main was leaking all over the exhaust. $4000 right off the bat.

I would imagine that landroversforsale.com wants to keep their reputation up to par in this rather discerning community of ours, and would therefore be a bit more up front about their trucks.

They are good guys. My only complaint is that they told me that the radio worked. It didn't and then they said that they would make it right. They didn't. They offered some replacement parts in the deal. After several months and finally a nasty email, the parts ended up on my doorstep. After multiple conversations and photos, The defender was not represented quite accurately. Sun fade not visible in pics. Three bad seals and various leaks. Turn signals don't shut off. Jacked up wiring, etc.

Good luck.

I couldn't be more devastated. I had the perfect d90, all of my ducks in a row...ie finances, as I was selling my honda, got the loan approved...and then I call Steven @ landroversforsale.com and he told me that he sold the d90 last night. What totally sucks is, my wife told me to call him on Monday night, but I didn't want to call him until I had everything in order. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait a while, and see what happens. I only have the funds to spend exactly $25k. I'm looking for a good truck, with semi low miles....70-80k. I also found out that the financing rate is twice as high when buying person to person, instead of a dealership, it's much much lower. Sorry for the long post, I just had vent my frustrations to someone, as my Wife is sick and tired of hearing the words D90

Damn! Should you choose to go with them again, I'm sure LRS will have more in their stable, just be patient.

Good luck with your search Kenny.

Ok, thank you everyone for your help. I ended up buying this http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/img_po...7&photoIndex=0 d90 today from Land Rover Flat Irons, CO

I paid 28k out of the door, I think it's a pretty good deal, it only has 65k miles, and a whole sluh of new parts, and it has a very clean carfax. It is still on autotrader.com on the first page for anyone who would like to see it. I am picking it up from the dealer on Jan 6th, heading up to Aspen for the weekend, and then the long drive back to St. Louis. Let me know what you guys think. I will post Hi Res pictures later, after I get it home.

Thanks, I'm really excited to actually own a Defender 90. It has been a dream of mine since I was 16 in 1996. My buddy Duncan had one in Wisconsin, and he let me drive it through the woods....I was 16, and had never offroaded before, since then I've loved d90's. Now I'm in the market for a bimini top and a brushguard, so if anyone has one let me know.

Be sure to update/replace your oil cooler lines ASAP if it has not been done! This forum is full of information on the subject.

Is this something I can have the dealer do before I drive it off of the lot. I will be speaking with the salesperson today, I'll ask her if it's been done. She read a long list of things that have been done before they put it up for sale. I'd assume that they took care of that, but I'll double check. How much would it cost to buy the parts and have them installed? Would you recommend I get it done before driving it back to St. Louis from Denver? I appreciate everyones help.
