Land Rover Kuwait

I saw three Defenders in Kuwait but did not have my camera with me but managed to snap this picture of a 110 TD5, looked very sweet. Also I took picture of Land Rover Kuwait, I really like it but no off road course

It has been a while since I've been on a LR board; I've been hanging out at the Triumph sites lately since I have a couple of bikes. I was planning to move to Kuwait since I wanted to be closer to my family but missed the mountains so much that I decided to live half and half between the US and Kuwait. For the past three months I spend half of that in Kuwait.
Yes it is a supercharged 35th anniversary edition Autobiography; I never thought Land Rover could build a fast vehicle that could stop. I was going to buy one here in the states but with the way fuel is going I hate to take it to the pump with it's 13.8 mpg. I'll stick with my Audi..
Has anybody talked to Hippert? We text last year but thatís it, I lost my cell so I no longer have his number. How is he doing?
Anyway, I should become a regular again at this site since Iíll be a Defender owner soon

What, no Coniston Green Defenders in Kuwait ?

Good to hear you're getting a D.

Hippert hasn't been on the site in way over a year. Don't know what's up with him. Let us know if you hear from him.

See you at this years Rally ?

We're (SNHLR) going to try and possibly revive Hippert this summer! His truck has been off the road for far too long.

LOL.

I guess I should expand my search and look for that ugly c.green. In fact, I might spend less if end up buying one of those

Hey Chris, let me know when you guys are planning on doing that. If I'm around I'll fly to NH to help out.

Follow-up Post:

Tis, not sure about the rally. I'm suppose to be in Eygpt in September but not sure on dates yet. I'll keep you posted.
I still hate it that I didn't get to hook up with you guys in Vail

Please, please, please tell me of any LR/110 salvage or junk yards near any of the US military bases in Kuwait. I have a Rover click with me that will want to go shopping when we involuntarily get over there soon, and plenty of connex shipping container space for parts that will have been recently unloaded.

Are the Fijian Rovers still sitting around? Are you allowed to scavenge parts off of trucks abandoned by fleeing allies?

If you have a grid coordinate, I'll answer that question through action...

When I was there last week we went to the junk yard searching for 110's but we didn't have any luck. We found crap load of Rovers but no defenders except for one where some American guy bought the full drivetrain for $900 and that's with the TDI. We need to find someone that works in the base that knows where those vehicles go, I talked to few people and they said they don't see any military vehicle being sold to junk yards and they think they get destroyed..

I'm having a friend look into it and If I find something I'll let you know.

Jim, what is Fijian? Oh and congrats on being the new mod.

Attempting to source that info presently.

If you find them, I could really use some doors...

Follow-up Post:

Hey Yousef - Welcome back! Look at me, all growd-up and moderatin' - sniff!

Anyway, a Fijian is a guy from Fiji. I guess they were part of the coalition of the willing until all the will ran out.

Any updates from anyone on locations in Kuwait for Defender and expedition equipment parts? I'm coming up on my last chance to try and score there, and very unlikely I'll be able to leave the bases while I'm there, so I'll have to ask a local on base vendor what they can come up with.
