Land Rover entering Dakar Rally

Land Rover sending Bowler built vehicles on the Dakar rally!
Sounds like fun!

Bowler is independent.....he's really not factory backed!

Land Rover will attack the Dakar with the this.....but I think in only 2014!

The Evoque!

I am looking foward as well! A much earlier rendering (concept stage)....looks like a computer enhanced image reveals oversized tires and practically no room in the wheel arches!
Which, in a different thread I pointed out that it woudn't work in the Dakar.....sure enough pics of the real thing, show totally different set up!

It is over for this year, but to answer your question it is televised here in the US on NBC Sports Network but it's pretty limited coverage and is delayed by a day or two from the actual events. You can get more real time info by following the rally on Dakar.com

Wish we had better coverage in the US.

Thanks. I completely forgot all about it this year. I guess there really isn't a demand to watch it here in the states.

I did a slightly modified version of this tour. Mine was self driving. I very highly recommend this company. http://www.rallytours.co.nz/item/the...lly-tour-2016/ Click image for larger version

other than the 2 day delay its pretty much the standard Dakar coverage.

ESPN has round the clock coverage in Argentina. We watched it every night in the hotels and bars. There are 10's of thousands of spectators along every touring and special stage. They close down highways, villages, whole towns for the Dakar to come through. The entire circus is probably 5000 vehicles. Racers, support, press...etc. Everyday you follow the Dakar you see something amazing.

Anybody wanna call shotgun in the Camel for next year? There's plenty of time to ship it over from Cape Town.

I literally came to this thread to make a joke about them breaking down in the first leg of the race... but real life beat me to the punchline.

I thought Bowler vehicles had been in Dakar long before this. ??
