Shooting Brake ... very desirable mod for the shooting upper class in the UK and other people with more money than sense ... neat place to carry your pair of Purdy's to the local shoot!

Pretty good article. I know there is a similar situation in Iran with the Shah's collection. Nothing has been touched for years and there are amazing cars from the 70s just sitting in a warehouse

So weird this post came up. I picked up a Du Pont Registry today and there are 3 or 4 of them in there. I had not thought of them in years. Remember how cool they were to dream about in highschool...

One of my customers has one. It's red and goes like stink and he claims it's as dependable as a Buick. I tried to trade him my red SI with a couple of spare motors to make it 12cyl......

They sound awesome. Check out the video of the Quicksilver exhaust installed on the LM002. Amazing.

About the article:
That article was awesome! They need to get the paperwork in order and let people go there and buy. Or maybe establish an auction house there and have an event. That would be the world's biggest exotic car auction, and would definitely bring high dollar tourism. They could even televise some of the options on Speed channel and do it up. "In shah allah" right?

Yup definitely still on my list for when I win the lottery... You could always buy this one if you are worried about reliability

Don't feel too bad, you meant 1987. I was 12. Horsey's dad was cursing as the condom just broke.

On a serious note, that thing is awesome. I remember the Malcolm Forbes part of the show. There was a special on him and how he parked the lambo on the street in nyc with the keys in it but no one got that close. Everyone was afraid of the car.

A few years ago I was driving around some country roads in MD with my brother. We were in his Porsche and his friend was in a Red 80s Countach in front of us. His friend stepped on the gas and all we saw was a cloud of smoke and he was gone. Pretty awesome.

I think it was around 1992 when I got my but handed to me by a diablo on the gw in parkway in va while I drove my 944 turbo.
the biggest and baddest ass kicking I have ever gotten while driving and the one Im most proud of...lol
when he finished toyiing with me we were at about 130 mph plus, I was two to three car lenghts behind him, nearly red lining my 944 on 5th getting all she had to give.
then 4 little swirlies of grey smoke came out of his double twinn tail pipes and he was gone as if I was standing still.
man what an ass wipping did I get that day....
there is mmuch more to this story as to how it begun and ended plus my age at that time but it is better enjoyed while being told over a couple of cold ones.
lambos are animals.....

Also, I starred in a show called Nasty Boys in the early 90s and we used an LM002 as our vehicle in some episodes. Scrub to 1:50.

I got into it once with a black diablo with my 1993 fairly modified c2 turbo on rt 50 east-probably the best high speed piece of road in Md. Porsche ran out of balls @ what my passenger said was an indicated 165 - the diablo kept pulling and opened the gap to a 1/2 mile before backing off. Humbling but mighty fun.

Have you guys seen the 1970's film Rendezvous ? Wide open through the streets of Paris @ dawn filmed from an early on board camera. Not sure if its on the net or not but its awesome.

found it: shot on an August morning @ 5:30 am in 1976

I was just looking at the wreckage in Japan and it truly sucks. Brian I hope your relatives are ok. I just saw this picture relating to a rescue effort.

Insanely cool vehicle. Would be nice if it wasn't needed right now but still cool.

That was great thanks for sharing. Last time I was in LA there was a brand new Ferrari California and Bentley Arnage outside of this restaurant. No one looked at them twice. An old guy pulls up in a white Countach and within minutes there was a crowd of people standing around it. Amazing that it still commands that kind of attention but I must admit it got me off my bar stool also.
