I'm in too! Excellent idea! I would limit the event to:
- food gathering (+ drinks)
- swap meet
- wrenching area (for those lucky enough to be able to drive there! You know someone will break down/want to install an upgrade )

looking @ 2014 Calendar and Uwharrie Safari is usually the second weekend. The weekend of the 20th is Easter and the last weekend in April is usually one of the busiest of the spring for everyone. May- fagetaboutid.

Anyone know of any conflicts the first weekend in April 4-6th 2014 ?

The fact that Brian is willing to sweep across the country to attend is kind of a clincher if I can put this together.
Stephen Peters parents live in Roanoke about an hour West so maybe we could coax him up as well. Sure would be nice to get George Laird up from New Orleans.

The venue could include some tech sessions and possible product demos.
An auction, raffle, and perhaps some sort of non trail related competition like the teeter totter, slow race, drive through the cones and over the yahadda yahadda.
Adult beverage tastings from the local distributors...
You name it we can have it all while selling parts, engine conversion kits, and so on.

there are a half dozen or more microbreweries within an hours drive, if they give it to you as a tasting no license is required. Wonder if we would get enough people to get their attention

I have always loved automotive swap meets. The " one mans trash is another mans treasure" was never more true than when it comes to auto parts. With 6 months to plan and get the word out perhaps we might have something. I'd like it to become an annual thing. We'll see what happens
