Yes, it has a small transfer case with CDL:

Saw the same on my rental Nissan Rogue. I got playing around with "Low" on the CVT transmission.

Overall, that car would be a fun little fire road car.

What do you think was the first thing I did.

This is why you never buy a used car from enterprise

haha I know this... I couldn't believe it. This guy at my work picked one up and I was quite surprised. Land Rover didn't put a CDL in a 99-03 disco 2, but a kia has one....

South Korean technology or imported/licensed?
Kudos to Kia (and Hyundai). 18 consecutive years of market share growth here has everyone on notice.

Honda Pilot has a rear Diff lock. I've even used it!

Not sure who makes the design, but it's probably Korean. The slide presentation makes it look like the operational concept may be licensed from Borg-Warner, which is possible since many new driveline designs in the last ten years has come from them. (like Porsche's Doppelkupplung, which is basically American IP.)

It's a chain drive, planetary gear reduction unit. Electronically controlled, so someone could probably easily hack it to operate at above 25mph (but why anyone would do that, who knows

My 88' Audi Quattro had three torsen diffs with a selectable locker in the rear. Torsen diffs are the only setup that could be described as being proactive. It was hands down the best car I've driven in the snow. Nothing could touch in when living in upstate NY for a few years.
Audi licensed the torsen technology from Gleason Corp (USA).

So as much as the transmission shifted like a bag of marbles it wasn't too shabby.

Car felt heavy, decent AWD, and I think, after driving all over LA I filled it up with 3 gallons of gasoline. I don't know the mpg but for the hurting I put on this Kia it's definitely a decent grocery getter for your old lady.

That is to say if your old lady can't drive stick.

For someone with 20 defenders you sure don't read good; it was a rental. It's not mine. But for a cheap AWD car it's not too shit

Admins can we nip this in the bud; not sure he's breaking forum rules but I am very sure he's misrepresenting himself. Pizzasmith, really?

Judging by the posts it's a 12 year old kid or an adult with a pronounced learning deficiency. I'd say the former based on the need for more emoticons
