Holy crap. The 2004 housing bubble in Rovers has arrived.

I suspect the high value is due to the truck having a snappy name.

Ben Gott is a great chap, I have dealt with him over the years, if he can make some nice cars and sell them and keep his customers happy fair play to him.

He maybe a nice guy but asking 4- 5 times market value for a vehicle is a curious business model and hardly fair to unsuspecting customers that may not know the difference between this vehicle and a NAS truck.

This isn't a for-sale thread, so I can say this, but that truck should be shitting the owner Tiffany cufflinks to justify that sticker price.

But surely that is case of buyer beware. If you are too stupid or lazy to find out the difference then it shouldn't be on the seller to rectify your mistake?

Although I agree the vehicle is vastly over priced.

Certainly not on the seller - homework is always on the buyer, the only caveat being the seller regarding the true state and history of the vehicle.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?
Market must be hotter than Vegas in July!

While that maybe true if you are buying a car from a shady downtown used car dealer I would expect a certain level of integrity from a life long enthusiast. Sure he is entitled to make a profit... so sell it for 40k...80k is ridiculous.

dot com strategy: Ask 80 - take 40. Ask 40 and everyone thinks something must be wrong with it. Nice guys finish last in Sales.

Ask 80.

Sell for 40.

Client thinks they got a bargain while still getting shafted.

Perfect scenario.
