just drove my first NAS D110 (282/500)

Near immaculate example...

Surprisingly in Tallahassee, Florida where I live, tight as a drum,
not a spec of rust, quiet as well. A bit pricey of course, have a
lot to think about.

Nothing important in this post, it was love at first sight.

Nicholas

Hmmm, sounds to me like it has found it's new owner.

Mike,

I would like to think so, but I'd probably have to sell my D90... I don't think I could swing almost $50k...

It was sweet, except for the LT77, which I wasn't crazy about... a bit clunky.

Nicholas,

Where is this 110 you speak of? I've seen one around town but I guess it's for sale now?

I don't think i can get my dad to swing two 110s but I like to take a look at it.

Also, I was thinking about checking out some trails either this weekend or this thursday(veteran's day)

Later
Matt

Matt,

Look on LRX.com Classifieds and you'll see the 110, it's the only one listed in Tallahassee, the guys name is Wiley Horton. Nice guy, but not the type who's going to go out of his way unless he knows the guy on the other end of the phone is the guy with the cash... hope you catch my drift. But I believe he said he would bring it with him to Pennington Law Firm where he works.

Can't do trails this weekend or next... I'm going to GREECE & CYPRUS tomorrow morning early...

Nicholas

Why am I bumping a 10 year old thread. I purchased 282/500 ten years ago today. LandRoverExchange was a great site to find Rovers. There were three other NAS 110's listed for sale at the time. I actually had the luxury of shopping for a clean, well maintained, rust free Rover.

I flew to Tallahassee in the morning with a round trip ticket and a check.
Wiley guaranteed, "If that truck does not make it back to Texas, I'll tear up the check." So I burned the other half of the round trip and drove the Defender home. Great road trip home without a single issue. I spent the night in Destin. Growing up with Texas beaches, the white sand and blue water was just amazing. Next day drove through thunderstorms in Louisiana with no issues. Then cruised uneventfully into Austin.

Since that day I've acquired a wife and we've had two boys. We've been off-road numerous times. The Defender always performs spectacularly. It's capabilities make me look like an expert driver. I had some great times with Chris VonC and Tony spotting me back when Chris and Tony owned their Defenders. I learned multitudes of information from them.

We've driven the Defender numerous times to Big Bend, Padre Island, and Lake Travis for camping trips. The Defender is perfect for those trips with room for the boys, the dogs, and gear.

While not a daily driver, I rotate Defender into the driving pool at least once a week. I don't want it sitting for too long. The Defender is by far the boys favorite vehicle that we own, out of two jeeps and a Disco (and, embarrassingly, a Fiat @38.6 mpg). They take turns riding up front with me. The boys love climbing in and out of the Defender through the windows. Like Bo and Luke without the hood slide.

February 11th is know as Defender Day in our home celebrating the day I bought 282/500. I love this Station Wagon.

Awesome story. I bought the three NAS90's I've owned on LRX. That was a nice site/service. Something to be said for that drama free, no cheap seat format.

exactly!! No drama, no licking no trash talking... just unadulterated listings… perhaps classifieds should be locked to comments?

Pictures from Defender Day 2015.

I'll have to bump this thread in another tens years and provide an update.
By then the boys will be driving the Defender.

and the Defender will be wearing Brian's front steering skid.

The Defender is a little dirty from off-roading near Bastrop.

I've toyed with the idea of buying the domain back up (I think it's still available) and reviving it. But just not enough time to put into it right now.

------ Follow up post added February 11th, 2015 05:26 PM ------

Oh nevermind - the sponsorship isn't up yet. Dec 27th it'll be up for grabs again.

Happy 1-10th Anniversary TJ!!

I love hearing that story and your truck is still a beauty. How cool is that going to be...your boys from their car seats to driving.
