Jump seat, worth keeping

Now that I am dad, I plan on installing a forward bench seat and removing my four jump seats in my d90 st for the little one. Should I keep them for later down the road?
Cheers...

You need enough to build at least three before you reach hoarder level.

Baby formula and diapers are slowing down my parts inventory growth...
I wouldn't trade this time for anything!

Mike,
I did an install of a center seat for the little guy's car seat so if you need some tips for that mod let me know. I would sell the jumpers as they would be OEM for the truck.
I am thinking about the Exmor Lock and Fold over the stock jump seat (as I have had a stock jump seat before) and think the lock and folds have a lot more technology behind them given that they are new to the market for the load area. IMHO

I would like more info on your center seat mod. I measured the baby seat and it looks like it will interfere with the stick shift.
Cheers...

Thumbs up

The exmoor forward flip and fold seats are nice however mucho $$$
I am thinking about going with a best top trailmax bench seat. Not too $$$ and mounting should mate up to existing holes in the floor. The black vinyl should match the front seats to boot.
The original lr bench seats are rare and expensive.

the only problem with the car seat on the bench seat in the back is that the seatbelts do NOT hold snug. you should almost install some lap belts back there so those will not "retract and tract".... hope that makes sense.

or you will end up using both "3-point" belts on the cars seat so they "pull" the car seat to the middle of the bench... you over lap the belts so hold it slightly tighter.

Question

Hmm...Not sure I follow you.
I have the child seat base in my Jetta with a three point retractable seat belt. How is the d90 different ?

On my dead D1 you have to use an extra buckle to secure the seat to the seat belt.

Here is the set up I did in my SW. Traded the jumps for a rear bench and bought some LR belts and bracket for the 3 point belt.

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...highlight=seat

As noted earlier, the long term problem is the rear bench has a low back and once a child is out of the car seat, the bench needs a higher back.

Nice write up. The trailmax bench has a higher back than the lr bench plus head rests.
