If there ever was a reminder to make the most of the time given to you, this is it. Tis was a great family man, a terrific athlete, and as generous a guy as you could ever want to meet. I'm heartbroken for his wife and kids, and if anyone has the information regarding where the family wants flowers/donations sent i would really appreciate it.

My Series IIA has a part of John, the roll cage. It'll be a constant reminder of Tis.

All my best wishes to John's family. One thing is for sure, he will always be part of this community, literally.

All anyone needs to do is go back to his posts and know his words and thoughts will live on.

Rover on, Tis!

FWIW, Tis' wife called a little while ago and visitation is Friday, 6p-8p. Funeral is 11am Saturday at Calvary Church in Charlotte followed by burial at Calvary cemetery. No info yet on where to send flowers/cards/donation in lieu of flowers, etc. His father-in-law and I are going to touch base later this evening regarding that and I'll post up here if someone else hasn't.

Sad to hear the news. Tis was a great wheel-man with that southern charm that attracted so many people. Don't forget to hug the one's that are near and pray for those who aren't. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. See ya on the other side Pard'ner!

Having a 3yr old daughter and seeing the photo of him with his daughter makes you realize how precise life is.
Very sad news, bless his family and loved ones.

That is really cool that he rode to radiation treatments. I am sure it helped. I feel really sad for his family and friends - all the best to them.

RIP Johnathan - may you ride eternally amazing trails where you are now.

I went back and read his first post.

I can only hope that I will someday have 1/2 the courage and strength that Johnathan had. I didn't know him personally...only here through his helpful post and a purchase I made from him years back.... I wish I had the pleasure to have met him.

This sucks. Spoke to him once on the phone back when he first got sick. We talked Rovers for over an hour after he had just been told he had brain tumors. You would have never known by the tone of his voice he had just been told his prognosis. Tough dude. RIP brother.

The Earth is a bit more ordinary without him. Tis' gentle nature and lust for adventure touched everyone around him.

"Hey Man" we will miss you. Thoughts and prayers to Tis' family.

To everyone who's life he touched, you have been blessed. After reading this post from start and seeing his great courage, I feel everyone's deep loss for a wounderfull human being. May "Tis" family find peace knowing he will not be far and wake up each day feeling that a loved one will always live thru us each day.

My prayers are with his family..

I only met Tis a few times but he was a great guy and super fun to be around. In reading the updates about his cancer fight over the past 4 years I got to know him a little more. His positive attitude from the beginning was inspirational, and that is a vast understatement. When a lot of people would most likely have given up, he chose to kick ass instead, and I think that is what kept him going as long as it did.

This may not be an accurate recollection but when I think about Tis the first thing that pops into my head is how he always seemed to travel light. While everyone else had 800 pounds of spares and gadgets galore loaded in the truck...he'd have a gym bag with a change of clothes, water and some snacks.

RIP Tis!
