John Mayer drives an Arles Blue SW

My wife just called me into the living room to show me something, and what do you know, on TMZ John Mayer was getting in his Arles SW with an Urban Offroad Safari rack. Nice. I will add a picture when I can.

I know nothing of his music but the guy seems to have good taste. I hear he collects vintage rolexes. Oh yeah and he bangs every hot chick in Hollywood.

He is one of the best electric guitar players I've ever seen. He is sick acoustic too.

I knew Mayer was into good design.. I wasn't expecting him to have a Defender though. Good spot.

So Shawn, let's get this straight. Your wife immediately alerted you to a D90 sighting. You ran into the living room, probably making wierd grunting noises while confirming the spotting. All the while your wife is just rolling her eyes. Then you pause your DVR, get your camera, take a picture of the TV, then post it on the D90 Source. I think it's safe to say that you've got a problem. And, sadly, your wife is feeding your habit. Can anyone say "intervention"?

My wife is guilty as well. She was walking by the information desk at our local grocery store yesterday. A small red D110 matchbox was sitting on the counter. She stopped and asked the woman where she got it and the woman told my wife that it was turned in to lost and found 3 days ago. She told my wife to take it. My wife said, "Thank you" as she picked up the 110 and walked away.

The list of celebs that drive defenders is pretty extensive. Mayer is no surprise.

Well it surprised me. Yes, all his stuff is like that, it is all really good in my opinion. I am a big music fan and like a lot of different styles. His stands out to me for some reason. I've seen him many times live, and he can destroy a Strat just as bad as Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I've heard that, but I'm sure he has a lot of "new friends" now that he's famous. that has to be one of the hard parts about being a celeb, besides those paparazzi idiots. But, there is no reason to treat a fan badly.

Ahh, don't most of these young celebrity stories end this way. This would be a good ending line on his wiki page.

He met him in a studio in New York. He was a fan before, but once he met him was completely turned off. I dunno. I don't mean to be a downer and I didn't meet him myself, but he was pretty adamant that he was a bad guy.

I met him at the Filmore in Denver, and he was cool--I don't hang out with him though. I am sure I am an ass to some people and best friends to others...life is like that. Fences and all. His guitar is incredible. I am a huge Hendrix fan, and some of Mayer's guitar covers from his promo's are nothing short of amazing.

I think even the nicest, most sincere people can turn into assholes once they are perpetually hounded by the media, fans, and paparazzi, while losing all privacy and sense of normalcy. Then they get shafted by hot chicks like Jennifer Love Hewitt and Cameron Diaz. The price you pay for stardom I guess....

Needless to say, he's a Defender guy so ya' gotta love 'em, asshole or not. Kinda like me.

It would be cool if he started posting on this page. In case he is reading this thread, we should give him the benefit of the doubt. We might be a community he can associate with........and maybe he could do a private D-90 concert

Shawn, Last night I get home from work and start to shovel the stoop, we had a little snow. My wife come bolting out into the garage screaming for me to come inside. There's John Mayer on TMZ getting into his defender. Funny thing is I just sat down to post the sighting and you beat me to it!! Turns out your wife is not the only one feeding your/our sickness. Funny thing is, if you listened to the bit, he was asking someone to pick him up 4 tubes of Lotramin. TMZ then sensationalizes things and goes off on the Jock itch kick. Lotramin is also used for athletes foot but I guess that's not as good for the celebrity trash show. My wife loves it!

He was totally messing with them about the rash. They bought it, then figured out he was just screwing with them. It was entertaining to say the least.
