I wonder if we could get him interested in this cool chat Forum. Someone must have his information. We need to welcome him aboard. How cool would that be. Once he warms up to the group, he can preform private concerts for D90 owners across the country!

I wrote on my blog why I hate John Mayer. OK it might be jealousy. BTW for you ford buffs out there (mike ECR) he also has been seen around town in a Gulf color scheme Ford GT.

Don't paint me with that brush. I like big Ford diesels and the Mustang, but other than that I'm not a Ford fan.

I would think the liking the Ford GT is a pretty safe assumption for most people. Other than reliability the car rocks.

I think the d-90 forum should send him a "d-90 thong". With a signed note, saying: John, please join our chat. We hear you have a panty problem with your wipers. We can solve that.

I Looked over the pics - his front right and left running lights are "Clear" rather than Amber - he deserves a ticket for that! OR maybe those are just L.A's. Expedition Exchange Fashion Police giving him a ticket because he has an Urban Offroad rack on his truck and his truck is dirty! It also looks like someone threw a hugh spit ball at his front windscreen (bottom left corner) -- yuck!

am i the only person on the forum who doesn't understand why so many people seem to be infatuated with or at least seem to be overly excited about John Mayer? Does anyone really care if he or anybody else drives a LR?

I'm with you. There's definitely a lot of Perez Hiltons on this board. This is quite long thread dedicated to a pop star whose main demographic is young girls.

DEFENDER OWNERS LOVE JOHN MAYER!!! OMG!!!!

Thats it. I'm buying a jeep.

It's time to 'fess up: who here has a John Mayer picture taped inside their cubby box?

Please tell me the Jonas Brothers prefer Italian cars.

I don't think we are infatuated with John Mayer, but more interested in the truck. Trust me, I didn't look up this last spotting. A friend sent it to me because she, unlike most over women can tell the difference between a Defender and a Jeep.

Lets start a thread over Bill Murray and his Series. Is that more manly?

Probably for the plate...or lack of. There's probably not one on the back (Probably still has the Copley paper one on there). I have a friend who is wealthy/famous and owns a lot of flashy cars. None of them have plates on them. They all have their respective dealership advertisement plates (like Rolls-Royce of Beverly Hills). The cars never have their proper tags.

I don't keep tags on my Defender either.

Len, The lights are clear because it is a Japan/Dubai spec vehicle. Notice the front fender marker lights, another giveaway.

Ken,

Thanks for the info - I didn't notice the front side marker lamps..... I learned something new about rovers by following this thread!!! even if the thread is about that Meyer dude - whoever he is!!! Isn't his uncle's name Oscar?

John Mayer is definitely over-rated. If you want a great guitarist, check out Alex Lifeson from Rush!

How about Chris Whitley. He just passed away.........but Damn he was good.

I saw him 3 times live. Preforming by himself taping his boot on a box with a microphone under it. Playing scratched up Steel acoustic guitars. Played with finger picks and a slide....

Bluesey, rock, country sound. Close your eyes and it sounds like at least 2 guitars at times.

The point of the thread was to point out a Defender driven by a popular and well liked muscian. I don't believe Alex Lifeson drives a Defender, so what was the point of bringing him up?

It's cool to see someone in the lime-light rolling in a vehicle not widely seen that I too also own. Mayer is given the Defender more notarity...cool beans! Who cares if he's liked by 10yr old girls, he's also liked by very beautiful women that he's 'shared time' with.
