Job hunting...

Hello All,
I figured it couldn't hurt to post here that I'm looking for a new position in the Philly area.
I've been working recently as a Project Manager (doing Infrastructure projects, primarily IT, but also a bit in healthcare and data analytics/warehousing) but I'm also looking at BA roles as well. I know its a longshot but I'd really like to network with some of the guys here to open up some employment prospects. I've got my MBA in Business Management and undergraduate in Engineering so I've got a good (educational) mix of tech and business.
I didn't want to post my resume here (because that's a bit weird) but I figured I'd give this post a shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mods please delete if I've somehow crossed a line posting this here.

I think there's a LinkedIn d-90 group if you're on there.

I'm also looking for a change, but in a role polar opposite to my current one. It sucks, because most places won't even look at you unless you're currently doing EXACTLY what they're looking to fill...

We're always hiring but we don't have any PM roles in the NE. San Antonio, Austin and San Francisco only.

I've been here coming up on six years. It's an incredible company to work for.

X2 I'm in the process as well, and Josh you are exactly right, the old "I think my skills would transfer nicely to X field are long gone. It is very difficult to switch gears in the current job climate.

That's because the firms you are looking at getting into have outsourced their processes to machines that analyse resumes and mega-recruitment firms that get paid minimal fees for each body jammed in a seat.

You need to find a different way to get your resume in front of someone ... preferably from a trusted confident of the the hirer.

If they want to hire you through the process they can always identify a preferred candidate to the recruitment firm ... they are happy to take their fee and more so if they don't have to work for it.

Funny seeing this. I've thought about posting something here, but didn't know what was cool or not.

I'm currently working as a full-time freelance creative (ie. photo, video, design) but wanting to step back into a more regular full-time postion with insurance benefits. I'm located just north of San Diego in Encinitas, CA and have a rich background in marketing, as well as photo/film/video production.

I know it's a long-shot, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Enginnering + IT, this is good !

I would recommend you look into waste water treatment... as an industry PMs with engineering and IT skills are sparse and jobs not overabundant, but available most anywhere. PM me if you want a 15 minute coaching session on terms and so on.

We can set up a quick call to discuss.

Surf90 my gf has a similar résumé and landed at a university. Something you don't often think of, but they do a lot of marketing.

Good luck to all job hunters.

What level are you looking for? Director or contributor?

South OC an option or too long a commute?

Depends on the size of the company. Last office job I had was at Warren Miller Ent. helping make ski movies happen. I worked in the marketing dept then on location as a PA with a cinematographer.

The farthest north I would probably want to go is San Clemente.

Thanks!

Sorry, but Im going to go ahead and jump into this thread, if thats alright. Im stuck out in Iraq right now, trying to find a job back home in the states doing Satellite Communications work. Pickings are a bit slim at the moment, unless someone here knows otherwise. Cant wait to come home, but cant leave here until I find something. Thanks, and good luck to anyone else out there trying to find a job too.

PS- I just found and requested to join the D-90 group on LinkedIn as well, and Ill also agree that this forum is a great bunch of folks. Havent felt this sort of brotherhood since I left the Army.
