Kinda cool...but like you said its "the thing". If they build it it will distract them from putting 'A Jeep in the driveway of every American'.

I think there was a thread on here before on the Jeep skunkworks group making some cool stuff including this FC. I buy the off road mags at the Barnes&Noble and the FC is always in there. IIRC, the axles are actually available thru Mopar which is crazy cool.

As far as making a FC for the US market? My guess is getting it to pass safety would be the toughest part. But I could see guys running construction, landscape, pool, etc businesses buying them. Put a dump body on the back and you have a nice little rig with some hauling capability. I see those cab forward Isuzu's used quite a lot so why not?

Why not just get a used Unimog? a bit cheaper than that would be new. Thats besides the fact that if they made it it would probably only come in automatic, and thats pretty useless.

Unimog with a dump bed...can be handy.
Not to mention a whole lot of fun with the gearing.

As rad as UmiMog's are isn't their top speed 50mph?

I love manual gearboxes as much as anyone but for a work use FC I think an auto would be a good option. Easier to back up trailers with and for employers not to worry about which guys can drive manual or not.

In that application i'd hope the driver can use a manual gearbox, if they can't, they shouldn't be allowed to drive a vehicle that big. I have no problem backing up big trucks up that are stick, but thats just me, we're all different.

Yeah, at least the older unimog's top out at 50ish, i'd assume the newer ones can do more.

I might be confused. I know that prototype/1 off Jeep FC was on 40"s and portals but I bet if Jeep made a FC it would be based off of the current Jeep and use as many pieces from the JK like the cab, frame, running gear. My thinking was - if Jeep could produce a small JK sized rig but with an 8' bed it could compete with the Ford F-150 but be smaller, more nimble, and have better MPG and operating costs.

I hope I wasn't implying that Jeep would make a newer Mog sized truck that would be in that Isuzu category unless Chrysler did it with the Ram line.

But agree on Mog's being a cool as hell option!

Could someone make a black hate with a Defender on it like the guy is wearing in the video. I did like the jeep too.
