Jeep Wrangler Diesel Likely

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...h-in-2015.html

420 lb/ft torque and 240HP and up to 28MPG in the Grand Cherokee?

I'll be interested in seeing what Jeep does for the body updates in 2015.

Seriously - Land Rover - WTF?

Land Rover is really going to miss this opportunity. I keep saying a new NAS Defender with a turbodiesel would have sold so fast they wouldn't even need to advertise.

Instead, Jeep is going to beat them to the punch, and when LR finally gets around to doing it, it'll be targeted at the Louis Vuitton shoppers that are driving G-Wagens, only offered in crazy trims with leather and Strut bling all over them.

Meanwhile the rest of the planet gets the plain jane version we all really wanted to begin with.

Welcome to the Gerry McGovern world of Land Rover.

Good to see them trying this again. Although the liberty and grand cherokee from a few years ago weren't hugely commercially successful, they are still pretty hot on the used market and sellers are getting what they want. There are a few diesel grands here in town and they are getting 25-28mpg at 80mph interstate.

Hopefully LR can beat them to the punch on the Defender.

When I was in NZ in 08&09 they had the diesel wranglers there back then.
