This is all your fault Gerry! You hear me you Gucci wearing nappy haired cheeky bastard! We're talking about Jeeps on a rover forum because of your failure to focus! Stop mingling with the Beckhams at Polo matches and get some damn English greenlane mud under your manicured hands!!!!

[QUOTE=Greenbull;621176]"Africa" looks like 110 and troopy had a new baby...

------ Follow up post added March 19th, 2015 04:20 PM ------

Exactly what I thought a hybrid of ideas from a 110/FJ 45 troopy/wrangler with Willys wheels. Overall I like it
Cheers to them

That rear section makes so much of a difference. They did good.

I would sell one of my cars and buy this if it was produced.

JLR should have Jeep produce them - just redesign the front clip, slap a green oval on it and suitably mark it up of course. Done and done.

Don't know if it's tried and true or not. This is everything you could hope for in a modern Defender, only we likely won't get anything close to this.

In a perfect world, Gerry McGovern's employment agreement would mandate he keep the long hair all the while his presence would be followed by the music of Christopher cross or Kenny G.

When I see the third picture of the "Staff" one, I can't help but sing Cake.

Thank heavens it has a/c! Hey, anyone else notice the bottle opener mounted to the front right a-pillar bar? Apparently it's for "officer use only" as well. ;-) That's actually awesome!

I know Jeep monitors their special interest sites, and actually listen to their enthusiast base. And even allow their followers to use 'Jeep' in the titles/names!! But, perhaps they should monitor LR sites too- to appreciate how well they are really doing!!

I subscribe LR should utilize my signature with regard to Defenders future...

Was just thinking that they should fire the folks in charge of developing the new Defender replacement. How can Jeep produce actual working concepts that get people excited in less time than these tarts can finish anything but ruining a brand image?

I'm not as "brand Loyal" as many of you folks. Especially when JLRNA does everything wrong in terms of keeping their loyal customers happy. It's clear that JLRNA is following the prole drift model with everything below a Range Rover in the line-up by riding off their brand image. Whatever becomes of the "New Defender", you can be assured that it will suck.

Aside from the fact that I could easily see 30 JKs in a single day (which would end up annoying me), I could absolutely see myself owning one of these "Africa Editions", especially if it had a diesel. One of the things I love about my Defender is it's simplicity, but let's face it, it would be impossible for an auto manufacturer to make something so simple today with regulations, so no matter what it's not going to be as cool as a real Defender.

I just really hate driving something that there are clones of everywhere I turn, but if I learned anything from Saturday Morning cartoons, it is:

"ehhh, if you can't beat em, Join em!" - Yosemite Sam

Bottom line is that this new Jeep looks awesome and I'd really consider owning one if it were ever produced as we see it in these pictures.

Its like Jeep is reading my mind with this Africa concept... I loved my 4 door JK but a diesel and another 6 inches in the back would make it perfect. Add a lifting roof and that's a very nice overlander.

But remember, Jeep is doing a redesign in 2018 so they still have a chance to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
