Jag/Land Rover evaluating sites for US production

Wishing it would be a Defender but somehow I doubt it.

I would love a South Carolina factory near the BMW factory. Have to go there anyway to visit the outlaws.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

This would be awesome, I have to drive an american made car for work, hopefully soon it can be a land rover.

Land Rover did say they want to build the new Defender in a truck platform, could build it here to get around paying import taxes.

Unfortunately I think they will find the same as most other manufacturers do, that he cost of manufacturing in the USA is cost prohibitive, especially once compared to their other 2 recent factories...China and Brazil.. Mexico is gearing up big time to welcome large car companies to build in the northern part of Mexico... Plenty of open land and can road freight to the USA and South America.. Labour and fuel is cheap and there are plenty of workers dying to be employed..

False.

Many of these factories have been built in the last 10 years.

The USA is the new China. Low cost labour. China has become expensive, the USA has become cheap.

Let's just hope that Nigel does not want to relocate over here to work at the new plant.
