Talking It's Running!

Finnaly got the engine all in and running! Took it on some test drives yesterday in the rain, top off, no grill, hood not latched all the way, exhaust leak and very bumpy (tires out of round from sitting for so long) . But I got a few thumbs up and a bunch of smiles and waves from little kids. It needs a bit of work to get everything 100% but it's good to have her running again.

Good work - I assume you have some pix of the nice new motor sitting in the still-mud-encrusted engine bay?

Rig up a couple small signalling mirrors and you could monitor that oil pressure gauge from the driver's seat.

Thats a 4.0 right? You just recycled the intake plenum?

Is that a 4.0 with a distributor, or a Disco 3.9?

Edit: Too slow, sorry.....

LOL I'll move the gauge soon, I really wanted to drive it around without the hood but I thought I was pushing it without the grill and the old inspection sticker. But without the hodd I could have kept an eye on the pressure. And yep, it's a 4.0, I needed the plenum so I could use the right TPS, otherwise I would have liked to keep the 4.0 cover as it looked nicer.

Looking good there Mike.

Now all you need to do is go with a Megasquirt so you can ditch the Mass Air sensor and clean up that intake piping.

You know where this "no water" thing is headed - cherry metallic mica pearl paint with a chromed exterior cage. I should have voted for the chevy motor.

OK I shouldn't say NO water, but nothing over 2.5 feet deep. Oh and just because I am avoiding water doesn't mean I will be avoiding the sticky brown stuff that normally covers the exterior (and most of the interior) of my 90, so you wouldn't be able to tell that I painted my 90 cherry and added chrome
