It's getting out of hand....NOT !!

So I now have owned this red D 90 since past Nov.
Clean vehicle, no major proplems other than a leaking gasket
slight overheating proplem and leaking brake cylinder.
I since then have.. fixed, replaced , customised the following....

Fixed:
Headgasked, .Tempature gage & sensor, thermostat
clutch slave, master cylinder
Replaced:
Brakes, Radiator, Battery, Headlights, all belts, hoses, fluids..ect
Windshield, Doortops and will order me a Badgersoftop by this fall.
New stuff:
Had intire inside of vehicle Rhinolined, wrap arround brushguard w/ slats
Mantec snorkel, deep water wading kit ( not installed yet ) , rear light guards
Piaa lights x 6, two on the brushguard and 4 for the new"roofrack", that should be here today
High lift jack, jack lock and mount, Jack off road base, handle keeper, hatched and shovel mount
2x jimmy cans w/mounting brakets, newdoor top studs and quick nut fastener, surrey top.
Most Orders came from D.A.P ( my favorite ) world class people and service, and from Atlantic British.

I am having an addition ( 8 foot privacy-fence w/ gate ) build on the side of my house, since my D-90 will no longer fit inside my garage with the roofrack installed and I just abaut had a fit when my hubby said to just leave it parked outside ...jerk.
I just want my baby to be save at night...still debating abaut thr "RAZOR WIRE" ON TOP OF THE FENCE
( just kidding) . I sooo love this Defender its scarry..I take the BMW to work because of the traffic on HWY 98.
Its bumper to bumper and I don't want to wear my clutch out LOL
But as soon as I get home, I hop in the Defender and run my arrants.
I am off on fri, sat and sundays and all I do is drive the Defender.
My hubby is getting worried about the time and money I spend on this machine LOL
WOW... look at the book I wrote..I'm rambling!!
Well, just wanted to let you know about my new passion in life !!!!!!!!!
I am a Defender owner for life, I am loving it.
Thanks for listening.
Christine

P.S. Could we get spellcheck on this site
for the none- native folks !?

LOL well sounds like you are definitely a defender owner! I use http://www.iespell.com/download.php as my spell checker for posts on the forum. DAP is great, I order from them now and then and they are always very helpful. If I listed all that I have done in the last 2 years it would fill a pega and 1/2 on the forum.

The new version of the Google toolbar has a spell check on it that works well.

Now, you are truely one of us!

Actually, I'd only count the first two as abnormal repairs, half of which I have done on my own, and you'll probably never have to do those again.

Belts, hoses... that tells me you know how to take care of a truck properly. Routine stuff.

All the modifications.... all good choices I think. When you start talking about things like new differentials, custom EFI computers, and things like that.... then you will be ready for the asylum like many of us already are. The lists of things you want to change never really end, and rarely get shorter. I keep adding onto mine all the time!

If I was not happily married, I'd ask you out on a date.
Funny thing is, with all the little stuff AND big stuff y'all do to the D90, it is a mission of love.

Just to balence this all out, my wife has a Lexus RX300 (I think that s the right # for thier SUV) and the dealership recently asked for $75 to change the windshield wipers!!! Seems they are incorrect even though they repleced them 8,000 miles ago and I have the invoce to prove it. Bloddy rip off artists. A car is a heavily depretiative (sp?) item so if you need to do something, have fun.
Only thing that could get me to sell the D90 is a late 1950s 120 Jag, possibly a 140.

dates might cost money but how many times can you talk to a woman about your rover mods w/o seeing their eyes glaze over
