Is it just me?

I have this odd attraction and almost obsession with the Ford SVT Raptor. It's a vulgar in your face ridiculous truck, but......

I want one too, until I look at the price tag.

Go drive one.. it is a pretty neat truck. We installed a procharger kit to one... it screws. But besides that it is a really nice riding truck, I think its the way a truck should feel. I used to have a 3500 dually and we now have a 2500 they are awful to have to drive around town, but the Raptor... if I had to have a truck to daily drive, haul the typical truck stuff, pull my bikes I'd get the Raptor. I thinks its less vulgar than a King Ranch super duty crew cab dually, or a soulless piece of shite Prius. G55 is on that list too I don't get it.

A Soldier of mine has one. 12.7 mpg, plastic and leather peeling here and there, and has developed squeaks in a couple different spots in the suspension. Its also not as fast over the whoops as Id imagined, but then again all they did was add a lot of bling. Same frame and rubber bump stops amongst other head scratchers. At that price point, id rather build a light duty diesel, i.e. Carli.

I heard there were a few frames cracking on these. I think there is a way to brace the weak spots.

Forget where I heard it. They are cool looking trucks though.

My neighbor has a Raptor and it simply kicks a$$. This whole "frame" issue is totally blown out of proportion unless people think their stock $50k truck can be driven like these jackasses (who turn around and blame Ford). Jump to 1:15 and 1:30 for the frame damage. Hitting those spots at 90mph is stupid. So much for scouting the course before hand.

There is definitely a hooligan element to the Raptor that is very appealing.
The frame bend issue came up with people doing high speed desert runs.
There are a few videos on it and threads in forums.

Personally, I'd rather just have a f150 fx4 Crew cab in Race Red... With the Ecoboost engine of course.
