Is designa chassis still in business?

Hey all,
Does anyone know if designa chassis is still operating? I was communicating with lain via email up to around the early part of July. I am finally at the point of being able to order my chassis but suddenly it seems my emails are not going through and their site is down.

Anyone have any news?
I wouldike to call but I'm not able to get free to make the call during UK business hours except via mobile which I assume will cost me a lot

Any info or alternatives for a new coil sprung 109 chassis would be appreciated

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

We can supply custom chassis to most any configuration. Pickup from our shop in Gig Harbor, WA or we can quote to BC.

So I did hear back from Lain so it seems still in business just busy. Site is still down though.
Meanwhile safarihp has a rolling chassis that has me interested.
Rhd though... I'm curious how many things need to be changed in the chassis and front axle/linkage to convert to lhd.

find yourself a cheap disco 1 and pull the front axle and all the steering bits off of it.

Just need steering box mounting holes on the left chassis rail. That's it.

I've actually got a set of disco axles.. I was under the impression the defender track width was narrower than a disco, which is of interest if I keep the salsbury rear from the defender.. I'd think I'd want a matching set

------ Follow up post added August 5th, 2016 04:44 PM ------

So I'd really just have to drill some steering box holes and relocate the front crossmember for the series recessed grill in order to use that 110 chassis with a series body.. Plus engine /transmission mounts as required

Um there's a thread about that around here somewhere....
But no you cannot use series body on 110 chassis.

Thanks for the info.. I couldn't find a thread with any actual information on this though I have seen a series truck built on a 110 chassis. One person led me to believe the only hassle in it was the series recessed grill but if it's a lot of mucking around in the rest of the body fitting I'll stick with either designa or whatever defenders northwest has to offer.
