iPhone and iPad mounts

Anyone have recommendations on a mount for an iPhone and iPad that works wells with our trucks? Durability and rigidity would be the main things I'm looking for, so they don't bounce all over while off road. I'd prefer something that doesn't mount on the windshield as the windshield is small enough on these trucks, I don't want to loose any more visibility

This may not handle the bouncing off road but I like how clean it is for the iphone. I just ordered this and I am planning on mounting it at the bottom of the ashtray and feeding the connection back thru the dash to the radio. When the ashtray lid is open, just plug it in.

Are you looking for something like a RAM mount? I can never hear my phone ringing because the TDI is so loud. It'd be nice to have it up on the dash somewhere where you could see calls coming in

I went with a ProClip for my iPhone - Puts it at the right level and no holes drilled.

You won't be able to search the site and find one for a D90 so use this link if interested.

http://www.proclipusa.com/store/prod...nt-652583.aspx

You have to by the mount first and then choose a device specific holder - Here are the options for iPhone 4.

Not cheap - but we own Defenders, so we should be used to that

I keep wanting to modify the ash tray to be a mount but too many other things need doing.

Yes. But something that is friendly to mounting to our trucks. Our dashes are like most vehicles. Ram might have one. I'm just not sure which one would be best

Man can those drawings be anymore vague. I'd like to see most detailed pictures of how it mounts exactly

ACTUALLY...that's how I discovered it works. At Rausch Creek - it was the only place it wasn't bouncing all over the truck!

Haha. Too funny. I have to see if that's distracting for on road use though.

I have a RAM iPad mount in the Tdi, which I can use for either on-road nav or off-road topos. Bonus is the fact that the headphone jack ends up right next to the aux input of the stereo... so I get tunes too.

It works well.

I had thought about The same thing with the speck dock in the ash tray. If you do that please post a few pics, I'd really like to see how that looks.

Can you take some pics of your set up? Would love to see how and where it mounts to the vehicle

Yes - ProClip picture (and site) not helpful.

Here are some pictures I found (not my set up - I can post those tonight).

It snaps into place and also includes some double-stick tape. I didn't use the tape and it's secure enough.

Once you have the vehicle mount then you can mount just about anything to it - they make holders for many devices (with and without charger integration). .

I use The Joy Factory mounts for Ipad using the seat bolt on the passenger seat. Nice, easy mount. Hs worked well for a long time. Does vibrate a little at certain gears with the diesel but what doesn't.
