Same thing happened to my iPhone 5. I bent it when it was in my back pocket while sitting on my Zodiac.

Thin, large phones.... Too much for pocket use. Get a rigid case if you are putting it in a pant pocket.

And a front pant pocket. Put it in a back pocket and sit on it, you deserve a broken phone....

I get a giggle from reading this thread. My sis use to work for Apple and I miss hearing all the behind the scenes stories about new product release. We are also going to miss all the free or heavily discounted Apple gadgets too.

My son has lost 2 phones to the sea and I just got him a new iphone with the most pricey and water impervious case that the store offered.

He also thought it was a really funny prank to text me the next day from his phone to let me know that he had lost his phone... Wish me luck!

I think it's time to reinvent the pants pocket

My agents are working on you right now Shayne........

You can bend anything if you try hard enough.

Exactly right. "bendgate" makes me laugh. We're such a nation of over-reacters. If you sit on it it can break. Get a case. Or don't sit on it. Besides we shouldn't be wearing our phones anyways. Especially not in our front pockets. It microwaves the family jewels.

I like the bendghazi tag... Apples next antennagate. Stupid big for a phone anyways, and it isn't limited to sitting, you can bend it with your hands...

It can't survive Liquid Nitrogen, and being hit by a sledge hammer? No way I am ever buying one....

What's the point of this destruction again?

I feel like complaining about the durability of the iPhone is almost the equivalent of complaining about a cure for cancer (should a pill be developed) tastes chalky.

It is simply amazing that if you rewind the clock to when we all thought the Motorola Razr was the tits! in a decade Apple has developed a product that does everything but wipe your ass for you.....and does it pretty reliably all things considered. Just imagine if the OS platform was windows based?!?! It would suck I assure you.
So a few catch on fire, so a few screens crack. I mean it's an amazingly reliable, robust piece of technology. Who has heard that Louis CK stand-up bit on people complaining about modern amenities?

That said, I'm not excited about being a guinea pig for new releases. Like I mentioned earlier, I'll wait until they sort out the issues (now there's an OS patch as of last night I guess).

Well put Jackie. Amazing technology for sure. I have not even been able to download the new OS. It keeps saying error on my phone and iPads
