iPhone 5 or 5s

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. Since this is not Rover related, I think it would go here instead of the "Wanted" forum. Moderators feel free to move is appropriate.

I need to replace an unfixable water damaged iPhone 5s. If you have an AT&T iPhone 5 or 5s, 32g or higher in good working condition that want to sell for a reasonable price [read cheap ], get in touch with me.

Already tried the rice thing for 72 hrs, replaced the battery, replaced the screen, nothing worked. Still have 14 more months under this contract and don't want to pay full price for another 5, a 6 or get the "Next" lease option.

It was disappointing to me that I spent $80 bucks for the Lifeproof cover and it didn't work. I did the 1 hr test with a napkin inside and it was fine, but that was almost a year ago. I suppose it was my fault for trusting the cover and not "double checking" everything before going kayaking.

Thanks!

Im pretty sure they prorate the phone value if you stay with AT&T. You are not the first person to do what you did to your phone. Have you asked what a replacement phone costs from them?

Yes, they told me that because there is water damage, I will have to pay full price for either a 5, 5s or one of the new sixes. The other option was "Next" and I will pay anywhere from $27 to $35 for 12 or 18 months. For the any of the iPhone 6 options, I would have to wait 6 weeks.

I didn't buy the Apple care plan because I thought I was safe with the Lifeproof cover...

No, fresh water. It was submerged for a couple of hours.

Thank you for the link, but after my experience with Lifeproof ($80) and the fact that they will not cover anything related to my incident; this disclaimer highlighted at the Liquipel website makes me think how well a smartphone will be protected with this product for $60.

Disclaimer: Liquipel applies a preventative coating designed to aid in the event of accidental liquid exposure, and assumes no responsibility for water damaged devices. Liquipel does not recommend your device ever come in contact with liquid.

Thanks.

Just do the Next plan. I've just traded in my note 3 for a note 4 at 11 months, it beats the hell out of paying full price for a phone up front.

A downfall of next is you loose your unlimited data if you still have it. Or it appeared that way when I was ordering my new phone a couple of weeks ago. I'd rather hold onto it, especially with the new FTC case pending.

I don't miss unlimited data at all, usually I am home on wifi and if I'm not I use my mobile hotspot (that has 4 gbs/mon) to supplement only when I am traveling for 7 days solid do I run into data issues.
