My Dad, brother in law, and cousin got one. One thing I could not believe is that no standard ear phone jack (even for the IPOD) will fit this unit. You have to buy the IPHONE jack. Apple screwed up on this small point I believe.

I have had it demonstrated to me - it does seem cool. Right now I just use my phone as a phone.......

Here are a few snap pics, the SIM card is located on top, you need to slide a paper clip to relaes the door to access the SIM card. When I activated the iphone, my blackberry SIM card was deactivated instantly.

The phone is really nice! So far my only complaint from what I've read is that you can't text msg using the phone horizontally. They keyboard is only accessible vertically.

Chris & Martin, thanks for clarifying the sim issue. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger as soon as I get a chance to play with one at the Apple store.

Ask them about dropping your sim card into it. I have not read yet of anyone using their existing sim card.

Mark - tell me how she likes it. I wsa going to get one (it will go well with my iMac) but I obviously can't use one right now. You will be making the switch to Mac soon....it runs Windows too.

Haha.. DJ, you are correct that is a IQ test. It is the first one this year.
You know what they are? Its part of the Journey to Excellence, your score is generated by the test, CSI and sales.

Brian, dont know what the score is, the test is due on the 17th. Then when IQ#2 comes out, I get the results. Stay tuned.....

Chris, how about a two month old Blackberry Pearl?

Apple giving $100 credit to early iPhone buyers

After the price of an 8 GB iPhone was reduced to $399 from $599, CEO Jobs agrees to give store credit to those who paid the original price.

September 6 2007: 3:59 PM EDT

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- After hundreds of emails from iPhone customers about its $200 price drop for a version of the wildly popular device, Apple chief executive Steve Jobs says the company will give certain customers who bought the gadget at its original price a store credit of $100.

Every iPhone customer who bought an 8 gigabyte iPhone from Apple or sole service provider AT&T (down $0.06 to $24.04, Charts) before the price dropped to $399 from $599, and who is not receiving another rebate, will receive a $100 store credit toward any purchase online or at an Apple retail store. Details will be posted on Apple's Web site next week.

"There is always change and improvement, and there is always someone who bought a product before a particular cutoff date and misses the new price or the new operating system or the new whatever," Jobs wrote in an email to iPhone customers.
Jobs defended the drastic price reduction. "iPhone is a breakthrough product, and we have the chance to 'go for it' this holiday season," he said.

Also if you can find one, the 4gb iPhone supposedly was lowered to $299 in order to clear them out of stock faster.
