Inventor of WD-40 Passed Away

John Barry Died today 1924-2009

He invented WD-40. WD stands for Water Displacement. The 40 was because it took 40 attempts to find a formula that worked.

My grandfather used to joke that WD-40 would cure the common cold! He used it for everything.

You just don't hear of inventors coming up with stuff like WD-40 every day.

Just a point of interest for those of us that fight rust everyday!

RIP John Barry

I dont think he invented it but was hired on to promote the product and became CEO and made it one of the most common household items of all time. It was first used on missle heads to stop the rust and I think he start pushing it to be used on everthing and anything. I could be wrong but either way the man has touched all of our lives if you know it or not.

Yes, as I read it, he was not involved until almost 20 years after it was invented.....
