Would be funny if they lived next to Jay Leno.

Let's see! They claim to be Christian and the Lord should strike him down for being lawless.

Hmmm! If that's the case, you two old bats are living together and could be lesbians. Which if the rules apply across the board, is an abomination of God.

Good article in the cape gazette. http://www.capegazette.com/article/n...37c5a12b2015ac

People with nothing more to do with their time than make trouble.

Now where's our "Bad neighbors" thread?

Neighbors from hell. Busybodies with way too much time on their hands.

We owned a house in a development with an HOA. When we bought I said "We need to watch out for old biddies with binoculars and a stopwatch." It didn't start that way, but it definitely developed over time. Several times in the last couple years before it was sold, we received letters saying "you have a weed growing."

We're shopping for a house. The FIRST thing we look for is "HOA".

Too funny, there is a guy who lives in an expensive house around the corner from me on the river that calls city code enforcement on me and others constantly. If I park my truck in the grass, even for a short period he takes pictures and calls, washing my boat on the side of the house he calls, coolers in front of my garage he calls. He is a retired Yankee snowbird, left wingnut, liberal twat waffle using the government to punish those he deems not worthy. Always had Obama and then Bernie political yard signs out front.

You just have to love the wealthy elitist liberals who look down on the rest of us.

The house I grew up in, there was a retired cop next door with too much time on his hands. He would call 911 when we played football in the street (suburban area with virtually no traffic) then shoot at our cats with a slingshot when they wandered into his backyard, that kind of passive agressive shit. My parents are not as comfrontational, but I got fed up with his shit when I was around 12 or 13 and cussed him out (I was bad kid) when he built a split rail fence on the property line then insisted on coming into our yard to mow another 10 feet because it made his fence look nicer. Started out I would drag my riding mower allllll the way down his precious fence, letting the gearshift lever rip litle chunks of the lattice off- which he would immediately come out and run over with his push mower because he didn't think I did a good job. He was nearly deaf and didn't notice he was mowing over his broken fence. Later, as I began to accumulate cars and parts (before a driver's license even) I just timed it so I was washing a car in the drive at the same time he was mowing. When he came across the line, I would wash the roof and then rinse it. And rinse again. And repeat. My aim wasn't very good and somehow he got soaked. I don't remember much trouble out of him afterwards.

When I bought my first house I made the mistake of moving onto the street with the head of the HOA. He and his cronies were up my ass every few months- "the old VW doesn't have current tags" or "please remove the car hood leaning on the side of the garage".

All I can say is I wouldn't move anywhere now without making an effort to talk to some of the neighbors and make sure they aren't assholes.

Always a good idea to talk to the neighbors before you buy. But nothing prevents them from selling to a world class a$$hole who has a copy of the city/county code and a budget for a lawyer.

I will not buy into an HOA again and I want enough so land that the neighbors can't see or hear me.

While they might invoke Jesus, I'll bet they have both Hillary and Bernie bumper stickers.

Unless you're paying my mortgage, then mind your own damn business.

If I want to run Christmas lights 365 days a year that's my business. I'm paying the electric bill.
