It's plastic, right? At this point, all I could do would be to draw a Def 110 on my garage wall and hang this on the front of it. I'm still looking, though, with my $500 finder's fee.

Yeah, plastic. and the ones i've seen in the flesh (not that many even here in the UK) look a little "home made". maybe they've just been badly fitted (like in a hurry in the rain), but personally i much prefer the standard grill.

I have seen one in the flesh, I think it came from Craddocks? It was very very expensive and looks kinda funky.

The new Four Wheeler magazine has a blurb about it, page 14. I like it too. I like the newer hood buldge they are doing as well.

The bonnet bulge is what is fitted to all the new defenders with the 2.4 4 cylinder ford "duratorq" engine. apparently ford wouldn't allow LR to redesign the head, hence the bulge to accomodate the engine.

means no more hood mounted spare wheels!

You could still mount a spare to it couldn't you? I have never driven with one mounted but I would assume you can't see anything with a tire on the old hood anyway. haha I always liked the way it looked but it just seemed to impractical and too much of a personal choice for me to do it to a truck I intend to sell.

No, totally the wrong shape now to mount a tyre.

if you're "height challenged".... (short!) then you may have probs seeing over a tyre, but, if like me (6'5") then no problem.
