Interest in NEW 3rd Brake Light Bars?

Trying to gauge the interest in NEW 3rd brake light bars, mainly to appease the Land Rover Gods - Ron (evilfij)

These new bars would not come with the lights and would come in bare steel. Depending on interest and quantity, I might do a bulk galvanizing run and maybe powdercoating run.

Another option is to source a similar looking 3rd brake light.

I have not idea the costs yet....

Might be a dumb question, but is one really needed? Does Virginia law require a 3rd light for vehicle inspections?

NJ does if the vehicle came from factory with it... but I managed to pass somehow without one.

Okay, what's a fair price for a galvanized and powdercoated light bar, without the light? $350? Based on material and labor costs, getting stuff galvanized and powder coated, I think that is about where they would end up. Of course I won't know until I actually start the process.

Whatcha think?

I looked briefly at new 3rd brake light options. There are a lot, and the cost is not too bad, seems to be in the $20 range. If you have some free time, please feel free to research and post your findings.

Are you going to fab them up to the stock light dimensions or would you do it for a specific aftermarket light? Just curious.

It depends on the consensus. If they are going to be galvanized and powdercoated, I am only going to make one version. And since the stock lights seem to suck, I hope everyone might be interested in a very close LED copy.
