Installing Hella 4000 Raylle driving lights

A cheap upgrade to the Hella 3000 lights that are mounted on my ARB bumper is the 4000 Eurobeam from Amazon for $108 each.

I am getting the ARB headlight harness installed this week and asked the service to hook up the pre-existing 3000 wiring to the upgraded harness. I don't want to take it back just for another install and would like to do the work myself.

Along with the recommended harness http://www.amazon.com/HELLA-14854100...gy_auto_text_y, what other parts and tools are required to make the connections as water resistant as possible? I've read of wrapping the connections in shrink wrap. Can these be found at Home Depot.

Also, the harness comes with a switch from the picture but my present lights are already connected to a switch at the base of the steering column. Can I not use the switch on the harness?

I plan on changing the older 3000 harness as it is quite old and plan on just following the route of the older harness with the new 4000 harness to the ARB loom if that makes sense.

BTW

The relay set up included with Hella harness is not waterproof - it will rust and go bad rather quickly if it gets wet.

You may want to upgrade to a waterproof relay kit similar to below.
