Inane question of the day

I am getting my SW into its "winter configuration" and in my analness noticed that the Land Rover decals above the V8 markings are looking pretty worn. Then I realized that I had never noticed them on any other truck. After viewing several trucks on ECR's project pages, not one of them had them.

Does anyone know if these are original (and still on after 13 years!) or something a previous owner slapped on there?

I think they were added. Previous owner probably got tired of people pulling up next to him and saying "nice jeep"

Definitely not factory original, although I am impressed with the symmetry of their placement.

The guys are right. It is not factory.

If you like the look though you might try the plastic raised "Land Rover" logo in that same location (its the same size). It would give the same overall look, but with a way more factory and finished appearance.

I kindal like the look. You could also get them in Black instead of green like the supercharged version's have.

Thanks guys. I'll scrape them off and see what's hiding underneath.

I added some to mine back in '95. They are the nice raised ones that I ordered from my dealer. They were OEM for the rear of a 110. I also added another V8 just above the liscense tag light just to show off a bit...

Back in the 90's (about 92~95) UK V8 defenders had a flat decal, with obviously "V8" on them, or Tdi, depending on the engine.

Not the posh raised ones though.... too much drag with raised badges, especially with our gas prices!!! :-)
