Importing parts from the UK

Does anyone have any pointers or tips for getting parts from the UK?
Like how to deal with customs? Freight forwarders because I live nowhere near a port?

Just wondering how much effort it takes. Seems like some good deals on tid setups and was wondering if it is worth the effort.

Thanks!
Pete
