Not so great, but something.

I'd really like to spend the time to switch over to the soft top, but with the weather in Maine lately it doesn't seem worth it.
I copied your post over in the pics thread so we don't get too off topic here.

I've had this list in my favorites that should be of interest on this discussion.

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...LIG071404.html

It's a list of foreign vehicles that can be legally imported in this country providing you're willing to perform all the necessary conversions and testing to be EPA/DOT approved. In most cases, I think it's cheaper to be moving to that specific country where the vehicle is than importing them for use here...

What would it take in the UK to get a 110 titled as a 109?

Seems we are suggesting the wrong way of going about this. Makes more sense to figure out how to title a existing truck to an older truck over there, then ship it in country with no hassles.

Make sense? Or is that too easy...

110 - a 109 only way to do this really would be to buy a 109 then mod the chassis for the coil springs and gearbox/ engine mountings strip the whole job down and put the 110 body on might need a couple of inches to extend the chassis / cut down the rear tub in the 110 its possible i know over here to do things like that you have to use a certain % of original vehical it could be a points system worked on % of original chassis and points for engine and gearbox and bulkhead but i could be wrong .. thought about doing this with a 90/88 saw a 25 year old one with a 300TDi and the R380 g/box but it seemed kinda dodgy

the thing about this sorta car is you really need to do all the work yourself or you never really know what your getting land rover theft is pretty big over here ... with them being so easily dismantled and put back together in so many ways shapes and forms johnny law are on the case with this and after rebuild they go to special testing centers that check everything out

have just thought about bringing a series over but i really want coils

might well bring a couple of series ones over to pay for the expense of taking the xd90 over i still cant get over the prices of landies in the states

are parts equally as expensive as the cars i might have to bring a lot of stuff over lol
