Import Question

Not sure where to post this and did a cursory search but couldn't find anything. I understand the 25year rule for importing a vehicle into the US and getting it titled as an antique to avoid restrictions. But am I able to purchase a model less than 25 years old, import it and not title it and keep it as a "museum" piece? Then simply wait until it's 25 years old and get it titled? So for example a 1999 Td5 110 and wait 10 years?

Maybe, in some world where hypothetical people are able to do hypothetical things. I'd love to read the justification on why a 199X Land Rover Defender is of historical value.

The google phrase you are looking for is "importing a non conforming vehicle"

Just leave it here in Canada and I'll look after it for 10 years for you. (It's not good to leave these trucks sitting un-used for long periods. I'll look after stretching it out for you). If you like, you can come and drive it every once and a while too.

Damn, was hoping I could avoid titling and the stickiness associated with that by making it a "trailer queen". Thanks for the Canada offer!!!
