Import Defenders in Esquire's Black Book

In MIA waiting for the plane and picked up Esquire's Black Book to read. The diesel powered Defender had a one page in a 3 page article on the top vehicles to now import - the other 2 were the BMW Z1 and the Peuguot 308 GT.

Pretty funny writeup and I got the laugh at the $3,000-$30,000 price range. I also liked the comments on how the diesel is so much better than the gas V8.

The other 2 pics in the article were stock/catalog shots but the third one I feel like I have seen before. Jersey tag YTD-71W - background on it Josh?

Yea, I just thought some of the wording in it was funny:

Quote:
Whereas the gas-powered Landies are thirsty and slow and have a well-earned reputation for unreliability, the diesel models are over engineered and durable enough to run until God turns the lights off. They also offer gobs of torque, but better fuel economy than a gasoline engine of similar size.
...especially after the estimated $3,000 to $35,000 dollar amount and reading this thread on Pirate about the pros and cons of diesels: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1047309

But, believe me, if I went the 25 year old Landie route I would go diesel. The thing is I just don't see them being that much of a "deal" compared to a NAS 90 even more so when you add a ST into the formula.
