Imogene Pass (if you are affiliated with Avis, no not enter)

In Telluride for vacation with the family. First day exploring, and respecting the limitations of the POS GMC Terrain rental, we took Tomboy Road up to the old mining ruins. The views and trails were spectacular. Also spectacular was this orange ICON FC45 with an International diesel. Decided to trek higher and into the snow level towards Imogene Pass. Ground clearance started to come into play but the kicker was the gutless GMC four banger. We ran out of power/gearing necessary to climb the relatively modest grades at 13,000'. The Terrain was floored and simply ran out of oomph. Of course the Jeep guys got a good laugh and we took it in stride. At least we got further than an Explorer that didn't have the traction to climb a short rock face just behind us. Pics later in the week.

Telluride is a beautiful place but I have only been in the winter. Would love to see and explore it during the summer months. Cool to hear you getting out with the Terrain. Could have been driver skill with the Explorer vs truck capability.

Bad line and heavy right foot.
These mining towns are incredible and so is the lifestyle. Would like to move out here one day.

Using the app, but that does not solve the iPad not having slot for a SD card.

Not sure about airing down 55 aspect ratio tires (note the pic able). Not much sidewall to work with. Besides aired, traction was not the the problem.

So it stalled out and couldn't get to the top? Seriously? Wow. Does a "Terrain" have a low range transfer case?

Yep, stalled out on a mild grade. 5% perhaps? No transfer case and a stall converter that locks up around 2.5k, well below the peak torque. GM's compact minivan that is cloaked as a SUV.
