I'm a Defender'aholic

Hi Gang - My name is Bill and I'm a Defender'aholic. I'm a long-time lurker so thought I'd introduce myself and some of the Deefers I've had over the last few years living in New Zealand and Australia. I'm American so the lack of Deefers in the US fueled my passion for these. Here's my list of Defenders over 5 years. My current model is the blue '85 County 110 that I may send over to the U.S.

Gosh they're very beautiful. If you had to pick one that was most memorable for you which would you choose?

Thanks! If I had to pick one it would be my current County 110. It's all original and I purchased it from the only owner before me who owned it for the last 30 years. It has heaps of character.

As I'm sure you know they're all a wee bit different. The early TDI's are workhorses, whereas the TD5's are grunty (along w/ heavy clutches) but I daily drove one in Sydney traffic for a year, and the new (grey one) Puma's are smooth as butter and the 6th gear really helps on the motorways.

I love the 300tdi's for their durability and I plan to buy another 110 300tdi to convert to automatic for daily driving and touring/camping all throughout NZ (rooftop tent, etc, etc).

yep - all the ones pictured except the blue td5 90 were in NZ.

I've had the Black County 90 (tdi), and Green 90 (td5) here in 90's.
