Down ere all the boats that are too large to trailer are usually driven as far inland as possible (rivers)
that works pretty well and a lot of the charter captains stay onboard and tie off to big trees.
Of course, I have photos somewhere of use driving back to our house on the island (post Hurricane Ivan) behind a dozier pushing all the boats out of the hwy.......gently of course!

One marina we manage has had ropes slip off the top of pilings and get away so consider that when tying off.

Pretty much buttoned up. Even have a hotel room reserved inland just in case.
They are already issuing mandatory evacuations in some of the nearby towns.

Baptism postponed till a later date.

Good luck everyone on the east coast!

I am prepared to the nth degree which means that it won't hit me.

Only thing I don't have is night vision goggles.

My hurricane tip of the week is.......if you live near the beach, put duct tape over your keyholes. ALL OF THEM!
We did some for Ivan and it worked so we did all the beach properties we managed for Katrina.
This keeps from having to drill out the lock because of sand compacting in the keyhole.

and FYI it takes about 65mph wind to force the rain to trickle in thru your keyhole

Based on how much my Series, Defender, and LR3 leak I'm actually contemplating doing this to my cars in non-hurricane conditions.

Aren't you in Raleigh? That's where my parents evacuated to.
