Wow! D90's came with a factory tow strap?

I don't know how somebody can own one and not drive it all this time.

because he's a DB. I guarantee it will break down on the way home. Land Rovers like to be driven. All the seals must be dry rotted.

Wagons are not more rare than soft tops. The numbers might show otherwise but the soft top parts are no longer made. You can buy everything to recreate a nas wagon. The soft tops truly are limited and getting more limited. Plus the other was black which always commands a premium. Green is nice but it is the most common wagon color there is. It is the only color made all three years.

If it was a blue wagon or willow green or monza red it might fetch a high premium. Seems like that last LE brought stupid money when it sold initially its been around nowi agree its not that special but damnthose are low miles. It might be easy to recreate a nas wagon but I think those roll bard pads are hard to come by.

Ha the roll bar pads are hard to get for a wagon but certainly easier than getting a ST cage. Kinda surprised this guy didn't have a willow green truck since he seems to have bought them purely as collectibles.

Man like that, that only put 1K miles on it did not buy it as a collectible. He bought it as an investment and had the room and personal already to have it done with minimum cost.

Doubt it was an investment. Sounds more like he has a car collection. It was stored in the same place seinfeld kept his porsche collection. I guess investment/collectible is the same thing depending on who you talk to. If you have the coin to keep your cars where he did, this is a hobby not what you are banking on to make you money.

For that kind of money I would expect one without a sagging headliner.

Ok lets see now here is the production numbers for our NAS Defenders

PRODUCTION:
Year/Model:

Soft Top & Wagon
1994 ST 1943
1995 ST 1190
1995 SW 510
1997 ST 1499
1997 SW 1300

Looking at the data there are 4632 ST made VS only 1810 SW. SW are indeed more rare. Add to that since this is a 97 which came with the 4.0 38A Pegasus blocks. They were much more stouter then the 3.9 fearing many changes and improvements like larger crank bearing journals and X bolted mains as opposed to 2 bolt mains. Also for the 94s, depending on the month of the 94s they came with either full size caps like on 95 or 97 engines or the smaller ones.

Production #s of all Defender Colors. I was not able to find number of colors produced in ST or SW but this car on eBay being a Coniston Green / White Top which only 1230 were made. It would mean that not many of them are SW plus being 97 the last best of the breed this with its low miles makes it very special!

Colour Number
AA Yellow 1036
Alpine White 2017
Arizona Blue 1
Arles Blue 493
Beluga Black 614
British Racing Green 439
Coniston Green 1230
Epsom Green 1
Java Green 1
Lazer Red 1
Monza Red 183
Orange 1
Portofino Red 738
Rioja Red 1
Willow Green 301

How many people driving a 97 really appreciate cross bolted main caps on the 4.0?

Looks like the 95 SW and the NAS 110's win for being "rare".

By your logic, short of white, coniston is the second most common color and hence the easiest to find. Sure you can say the 97 engine is better but the only reason this truck is desirable is mileage, nothing more. The soft tops are always worth more and green ads nothing to the value. I don't dislike the green but it is common. There is nothing special about this truck. In fact if you take into account how many low mileage jap trucks there are you could say the low mileage sw isn't as big of a deal. Sure this one has über low miles but I almost want to say being green is hurting its value. Willow or red would probably make it sell faster, then blue.

If it was a blue 95 or a poe I bet it could command the money but at this rate it will go for 95 or even what the black went for which was in the 80s

What did the Low mileage LE(only 301 made) that Copley had sell for? I would think that would be a good benchmark. It had less than 10K miles if memory serves me correct. He's also sold it 2 or 3 times.
