IDS and SDD is a pain in the A**

Installing all the latest diagnostics software for land rover after my land rover computer hard drive crashed is a pain... And I'm not the most comfusor savvy guy out there..

Yes it is, but it has gotten way better since the introduction of SDD, and they are constantly improving it. It definitely needs a good internet connection and its good to keep the 'as built' and 'configuration' files up to date. I would say about once a year each of our SDD machines need to be totally wiped clean and have all of the SDD software reloaded in order. This is usually because of a failed software download.

More than I needed to pay for it last time I checked... At the moment the sdd does up to 2012 from memory.. We don't ever get warranty cars yet..so I (as of yet) haven't needed anything later..
