IDF Defender Rollover footage

Israeli Defense Force 110

video footage of the event.

http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-4331682,00.html

The first thing i wondered was ...did it have a rollcage ?

Many Defenders in the IDF do, but mostly the training vehicles.

From my sources... it probably did not have one.

Check out the bottom pic , looking at the damage what do you all think ?

Driver survived.

Once I figured out which button to push to get the Video to play on that piece asking for age.....very silly squaddies going way to fast around a corner. IMHO that number of rolls there had to have been some cage or strenghtening of the cab. Unless it was armored

Holy shit!!! That's incredible he survived.

This looks like a piece of the roll-cage, right?

Probably uparmored and with no sway bars that thing was pitching and yawing all over the place! Looks like he was honking fast on that turn too! Any guesses on speed? Maybe 75-80?

On thing for sure, regardless of ROPS, if he wasn't wearing a seatbelt he would have been ejected for sure. Those doors pop open like they're secured with Velcro!

Also, I'd rather have this wrecked truck than the "$22,000" NAS 110 in the other thread.

Caged. From what I have seen, a rolled Defender folds up much worse than that

Here is the English version of the webpage.

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...331902,00.html

FYI: in Hebrew, Jeep = SUV

Did anyone catch if it was 300tdi, TD5 or Puma ? We have all variants here.

It would help work out top speed....that road is about in the middle of B.F.E. as you can get in Israel.
About two hours long. A 19 year old solider alone on a boring drive...he was definitely flooring it while texting his girl.

Anyway if it was a 300tdi like mine,
I am positive he didn't hit 80MPH

The ones they build in Auburn for the IDF have internal cages added....at least the ones I saw...

Probably the only place in the US where you can see 20-30 brand new 110's lined up....
