Ideas needed

OK - so I need to put together a "corp retreat" for work...one of my peers is getting hitched and so my boss wants to take 5 of us on a "trip". I am nixing Vegas as I can't control myself there, and the wifey's of all concerned would smell a rat immediately. Here are the key things:
  • Needs to be contiguous US - Canada
  • Should involve debauchery
  • Can include some cool stuff for guys to do
  • Wifey's must think it is a "roadshow" event, so should be to a major city under the guise of same as that is something on the cards for us soon - easy to sell them that way
  • Money not an object - to reasonableness though. Think First Class all the way
  • Tied to a cool event for one day would be neat

background...should be in May/June it will be the C-Level suite (6 of us) going, and we are generally in our 40's. Some things I have thought of are Montreal Grand Prix, Los Angeles (Roosevelt Hotel)

HELP????

Montreal is a hot mess, of the best kind... upvote, where else can you watch cars race and see strippers in the same city. I have had more than one questionable evening in that french speaking town and I don't regret any of them

- Driskill Hotel
- X-Games at Circuit of the Americas Jun 5-8
- Throw in damn near anything you want to add; Boat on Lake Travis, Golf, etc.

x20 - I've also "heard" that they fly in some of the best "talent" for some of the "finer" clubs.

For golfind and sorta close, you can go to Myrtle Beach by day, and Masters at night.

cant comment on the talent ... but I was there last year as a guest of red bull ... was trying to get them to tune my truck ... but they were a bit preoccupied.

Stayed @ The Phonecian on Camelback Rd and did a lot of that as well as rafting down the Salt River. We also did a bbq in the desert where everyone went trail riding in jeeps and hummers and arrived @ a remote location where a side of beef had been cooking over a mesquite fire all day. There is also the Indian Casino thing going in the area as well.
I understand Mary Elaine's became a J&G Steakhouse. Shame that was true 5 star dining.

The Formula One deal in Montreal sounds really fun. A good motorsports event will be enjoyable even to a non-gear head. Hell, I wouldn't mind going up there myself and tagging a day or 2 of DH MTB at Bromont (45 minutes away) to make it complete. But bringing my 2 sons out to Whistler so I can't complain.

Austin, TX is supposed to be a fun town too and is on my list (but probably won't get to go there until I am too old to enjoy it).

Thank goodness you aren't going to Vegas no offense to people that live there but I hate that place.

Sounds like Montreal F1 it is. Get the Friday to Sunday tickets, bring or buy coolers, buy beers once you're there (you can bring them into the island where the track is), and some sunscreen and you're all set. Downtown has everything else you need after qualifying and the race(s) each day.

Haha I don't even see any NYC suggestions above!

Go Defender sighting around NYC

No but honestly, you could go down to Times Square and do the following:
-Get a photo with Elmo
-Get a photo with the Naked Cowboy
-You could all remark how NY is so crowded and you could never live here
-Get a photo with an NYPD officer
-Go see a broadway show

Then venture down to SoHo
-Grab a cigar at OK Cigar on W Broadway and have a smoke outside
-Say hi to Ronnie
-Wait in line and buy a Cronut

Then venture up to the West Village
-Get a group photo in front of the Sex and the City townhome and text it to the ladies in your lives. Remark how awesome NY is and how you all want to move here
-Grab a cupcake from the cupcake store they always went to in the movie
-Go to Ben's or another establishment and sample NYC pizza
-Go to Murray's Cheese, pick up something for the wives
-Go to the other Murray's or to Bagels on the Square and buy a bagel

Then venture up to the 20s
-Check out Eataly. Grab a beer on the roof

Then venture up to Midtown/MSG area
-Eat at Keens Steakhouse

squeeze a visit in to Carmine's, uptown. Make sure you fast 24 hours before though.

You just have to make reservations for dinner. You can pretty much show up for everything else. So just show up, start in the village, times square, or wherever. Buy a metro card, wear comfy shoes, and go forth.

Oh check out the bowlmor. It's bowling, nyc style. They've got different rooms with pool, etc too. I've only been to their times square place, and it's cool.
