I'm beginning to think you're losing it. Didn't you even see his truck when it was at the marina?

I thought it was a different one as he sold it. I thought it left the state

Don't bother giving Tata/LR the benefit of the doubt. Their focus is not the Defender as we know it, I can almost 100% guarantee that. Their focus over the next few years is on small, fuel efficient variations of the Evoque/LR4. Small, small, small.

BTW, I just spoke to Jonathan. He currently has a D90 and a 110 in his shop that customers are having him 'Iconize' (my term).

He'll be providing more info in their newsletter. I think the comparisons between ECR and Icon are spot-on based on what he said; different dash, axles and brakes, among other things. Not cheap either.

Saw what I think is an Icon built FJ in town today. IDK, not sure if I am all that impressed. Maybe it was an old one but just didn't seem all that: leafer springs, very plain interior, non-galvy chassis and some big alloys with some Mud Crapplers like tires. I did not get to hear what was under the hood tho so that could be where the money was spent.

Looked neat but if they are charging anywhere near $80k no thanks - I am sure I could build a galvy frame, Tdi powered, Toy E-locked axled rig for half that.
