Can she drive stick?

Does she get annoyed when cars break down in traffic?

Won't start?

Suddenly and regularly need substantial injects of cash

Likes air con or electric windows?

Doesn't mind wearing ear plugs?

Enjoys being uncomfortable?

About 90% of the people who have to convince the wife to let them have something ... have to sell it a few weeks later when she finds something she doesn't like ...

What Jason fails to mention is that the other 10% actually didn't ask...

ROFLMAO

I'm fortunate that I bought most of my toys before marriage. That had two benefits. One, she couldn't tell me I couldn't buy it. Second, it wasn't considered community property so I got to keep in after the divorce.

You are thinking tactical.

You need to think strategic...

That 2 month salary on a ring thing? Since then, I never have had to ask about anything.

Start leaving REI, Marmot, etc catalogs around. Tell her she needs new boots.

Get pricing for new JKUs and Land Cruisers, LR5. This is all prep.

Once we got into camping, and were looking at vehicle based travel, I was in the garage measuring the Rubicon rear area for sleeping stealth. When I explained it just was not big enough, she said "why don't we just get a Defender?".

Plan has worked too well. She wants this now:

Custom Campers - Land Rover 130 Single Cab

This is what I did, after we sold our 90. A month later she says, I need a 4wd. So I talked to overseas sales guy about a 4 door Jeep and when I showed her how much it would cost, she flipped. Then I said, I could rebuild a 90 for you for a lot less! Hook, line and sinker!
