I feel bad for this D90...

This is a sad...
This D90 has been buried under snow all winter.
It lives a few blocks from my home and I have never seen it move in the past several years.
A few years back I approached the owner who had no interest in selling.
I think it's time to knock on the door again..

There's one like this nearby in Virginia. A yellow ST that has been sitting for 5 years and would love a new home. My home, more specifically.

That's so weird. Too bad they can't be considered children. You could have child protective services come get it for you to adopt.

Nope, Northern Virginia. Drive by it every weekend.

There was a Arles ST in Leesburg just rotting away for years. Moved to a new spot last year.

I remember seeing that ST - I can only imagine what is up with this Yellow ST - just awful inside and needing a frame-up resto. That said would be a great project for someone.

This cruiser has a snow protection system on it. Appears to be working well.

There a black ST NAS 90 here that's been sitting unmoved, tires flat, rotting away for the last 3 years. I've left 4 notes for the owner and knocked on his door twice. Never have heard any response.

Is this in McLean? I've seen a Yellow ST around, but not too frequently.

This is just wrong. Although with the snow this winter you could hide a full size Hummer until spring. Tell the owner you will shovel it out for free but the 90 is yours!

Nope. Nearby. I am telling you, it has not moved from the same spot for going on 6 years.

I'm guessing it's the years of continuous lowball offers from savvy rover guys that finally turn them into shut-ins

My inclination would be to try to explain to the owners of these rigs that if left to sit, they will rot, and they will cost a lot more to repair, so selling now is the smart thing to do. Also, maybe ask the circumstances- as that may be key to getting a sale. I remember the thread here about the red ST which was owned by the late son of the folks who had it in their driveway. IIRC, they sold it when convinced that it would live on.

Sad part is, some folks appear to have no conscience when it comes to letting a good rig rot into the driveway, and even get off on telling people that said rigs are not for sale.

Out of curiosity, is the problem that the owners won't sell, or won't sell at the prices being offered?

Big difference.
