Hurricane Sandy

Hope all the NoVa guys stay safe with the pending storm. I am cleaning gutters and drains out this weekend here in N.J. It was just a year ago we got hammered with the Earthquake, Hurricane, and Snow Storm in about a 30 day period....

Yup, I will be preparing the Eastern Shore property for at least three feet of flood water. Isobel we had about 18 inches in the garage. This one is a going to be a 100 or maybe even a 500 year storm, so looking for twice that. Current tracking shows it going right over the house there.
Fortunately I live on top of a hill in Kensington, so we will be safe there.

We got so much rain here that Red Bull was doing wake board in the streets.

I have my Betram sportfish in the water @ Annapolis and I'm 5hrs inland. Watching this storm track very closely. Marina says they don't have the room for her on the hard there

Fresh gas for the generator, couple extra batteries for the headlamps, already have food, make sure the sump pump is working, and grab a book or 2......

I might be sitting my butt out by the Outer Banks this weekend hopefully watching Sandy roll by from a National Guard Armory. Lucky me. Hope not.

If I get to stay home this weekend, then it's going to be a bad week for you New Englanders.

Just ordered a generator from the local electric supply company. Last year we fine and lost power for about 5 minutes but I am not so sure this one will be easy on us. Need to get the saws ready in case we get trees down. If things really turn to shit we'll take the family up to VT.

The real bummer is I just got a bunch of parts in and getting the shop ready to do some work on the Rover (to get ready for ROTR) next week and I am worried I will be too busy cleaning up the yard instead.

Last year I got fed up with power outages (3 in the last 2 years) and hooked my generator up to my electrical panel with an interlock switch. Now when the power goes out I flip a switch on the panel and plug in and start the generator.

How does this impact the RRC swapping of parts? Out in lieu of Eastern Shore prep?

My prep is some cases of water, a shitload of diet coke and Ramen, a chest rig full of 77gr and an townhouse complex full of lost souls-though they did well with 5 days of no power right before the 4th of July.
