Doesn't look like a big deal. Winds in the 40mph range and lots of rain. Headed to Annapolis myself tomorrow in hopes of getting boat pulled out somewhere Monday morning.

Seems like after Katrina there was some notice put out from the top that there will be no F*king around for the big storms. Dont really remember local government being soo on top of storm preps.

I say all of us in the storm's path just go to Rausch Creek and wheel. It's on high ground and only more challenging in the wet!

Damn. That's impressive.

I live in Florida and we don't even flinch until the winds hit 90-100 mph. Now Hurricane Andrew, that was some serious destruction. Stay safe out there!

I would stay down for another couple of days. Or take your time coming back. Going to be messy here for a while.

Haha, would love to if I could. I have the feeling Sandy is going to flub up ROTR for me this year.

Well I'm trying to get home to make sure the house doesn't flood. We will see. I guess that's why I have insurance!

I'm afraid that there will not be much left to save on the entire Atlantic coast where the storm comes ashore. Destruction will be extensive and wide spread. Anything built on the coast or the barrier islands will probably not survive. With 90+mph winds, an 8-10 foot surge and 20+ foot waves I would be amazed if there are any structures left standing after 12-18 hours of that.
Anyone who lives out there and decides to stick it out or have a hurricane party may never be seen again.
I think my Bay house is relatively safe in that it is 60 miles inland, and is on protected waters. Plus, the winds will be such as to blow the water out of the Bay, which I hope will keep the tides down. (Fingers crossed). I have my boat outside cz I have the Rover in the Barn. I am pretty sure it will be a bathtub full of water as the only way for water to drain is the small 1 inch hole in the transom. Just hope the engine doesn't get drowned. I was there all day yesterday getting stuff up on sawhorses so if the water does come up it should stay dry.
As for my 2A, I hope the paint shop has all my stuff inside. If they don't the wind will take it away.
That would suck.

Things are getting hectic here... But people are still out in droves- I forget what nuts us beach folk are. Will post pics when I get home- lots of graffiti telling Sandy what she can go do with herself!

Hope you have a flood rider. Insurance really only covers you if the water comes from above. If it comes up from below, usually not.
