Here is the link of the pics that were taken by Katie the day after the storm when we were driving around in the battlewagon. Sample of photos taken.
Started at Bradley Beach, Avon, Belmar, Sea Girt, Brielle, and then Asbury Park.

OMG - this is the worst I have seen yet. Best of luck with clean up and that is really good of you for helping out.

Crazy story about the engagement ring! Must have given you guys a some hope.

Crazy pic of down south airborne. On the plus side it looks like things are fixable/cleanable - going to take a while though.

I thought it was ridiculous, sifting with kitchen strainers & digging with e-tool looking for fire safe & ring, but there it shown up. It was his great grandmothers ring that he passed to his wife. Definitely gave us a boost.
I hope the weather shows mercy tonight in all those affected areas.

I couldn't even imagine trying to walk up or down your driveway WITHOUT a snow blower - that's gotta be nuts!

That's absolutely terrible about you're power. PSE&G told my oldest brother that he and his wife and 3 kids will be without power UNTIL THANKSGIVING. Plus he and his family can't even drive into their neighborhood because of a tree and a bunch of power lines that are still blocking the entrance to their neighborhood so they're forced to park in an adjacent neighborhood and walk in through some backyards...a little over 1/4 mile away.

Tell your brother to get a chain saw and clear the tree! How hard is that. I am surprised people just wait around for someone else to clear the tree. I can assure you that if my road was blocked, I would go out there and take care of it myself like I did when I lived in BFE.

Because he has 3 kids and this tree is attached to power lines...

hahaha - I don't know how you can tell if a power line is live or not, but I generally stay away from them when they're down, and wouldn't trust PSE&G even if they told me there was no juice flowing through them.
PSE&G was famously calling residents last year after Irene advising them their power had been restored when in reality they were still in the dark without power...for weeks.

As I suspected, this alert now shows up on AutoCheck reports run for basically any vehicle registered in the tri-state area.

Well, obviously way worse could have happened (and did) to others, so this is just a minor "this sucks" rant. Luckily my truck didn't even touch water during the hurricane, so it's more just the perception of damage that sucks with that flag on the AutoCheck. I know I probably wouldn't buy a car that had that flag on it from Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina, but I also think NY, NY (as in the island of Manhattan) was seen as having only encoutered minor damage when compared to other areas surrounding us - like the Far Rockaways, Staten Island, etc.

Are you South/East of 95 or are you North/West closer to Greenfield Hill? Aside from maybe they haven't flagged all areas yet, your area may have been seen as not likely to have been affected by flood waters.
