Well that auction was nuts. I bid on three HMMWV and did not win any. One I bid up to $29K. It sold for 41K. Original sale price in 1994 was $44K. I consider myself educated on Humvee prices. Too bad, considering my wife gave me the go ahead.

From my understanding it was the first batch to go out. There will be more and I would think that the prices might get better?
On a side note....We have one that we use as a brush truck, state owned forestry firefighting truck, and it doesn't get used much at all. It is just to dang wide to get down the trails. At least here in Virginia.

Where do old hummers go?

They may end up like this poor guys old truck.

The picture was posted online by the Islamic extremist brigade Ansar al-Deen Front, according to a CBS News report. It shows a black pick-up truck with a Mark-1 Plumbing decal on the door and an anti-aircraft gun in the bed.
Mark Oberholtzer, who has owned and operated Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City for the past 32 years, confirmed it was his pickup truck in the picture. He said he no longer owned the vehicle and had no idea how it ended up in Syria.
Oberholtzer said he traded in the truck to an AutoNation dealership three years ago. He usually takes the decals off his vehicles when he sells them but he left it on this truck with the expectation that AutoNation would remove it.

Totally not shocked at the Mark 1 plumbing decal. I used to see still valid state inspection decals on all kinds of trucks in Iraq. Clearly the used car market has a flow to it!
I wouldn't worry too much about these HMMWVs showing up there though, ISF has already given away enough. Not to mention this is apt: http://www.duffelblog.com/2014/06/is...vees-captured/

I don't get the fascination with H1s but that may be bias from a lot of time rolling around in one.
