Huge junk yard somewhere in the US

Hey guys!
Has anyone of you ever heard of a huge junk yard somewhere in the US where the really have all kind of cars? It should be that big that you can not walk thru but need a pick up. I moved to the US not that long ago. A friend in Europe told me about that but I couldn't find it using google. I don't expect finding LR parts there but I'm looking for pick-ups of the 1950's. Anyone an idea?

Thx - Robert

They are actually all over, but starting to shrink. I'd jump on some of the classic car/truck forums and ask around. I recall a huge one in AZ that was getting ready to close. He had acres and acres of nearly rust free classics.

The place you're looking for is GT Car Parts tel# (623) 780-2200 in Arizona. The place is a goldmine for hard to find spares for exotics. Be sure to have your VIN handy when you call up for spare parts - the owner is a crusty guy who doesn't like selling rare parts to people who build kit cars and won't even have a conversation with you till the VIN checks out and you've established that you actually own the car. There's no website, so use the phone number above.

The problem is that scrap metal prices skyrocketed a few years ago and so unfortunately alot of the "good" junk yards sold off their cars. I can remember looking for fenders for my 46 chevy pickup and most of the junkyards said oh if you called me a year ago I had a couple of those but they were worth more crushed.

I was thinking exactly the same thing! Sorry, Ron. If my wife would let me, mine would look like that...
